Microsoft Could Bring Xbox Titles Like Indiana Jones and Starfield to the PlayStation 5
Punjab News
Microsoft is reportedly considering bringing some of its Xbox-exclusive games, such as Starfield, Indiana Jones, and Hi-Fi Rush, to other gaming platforms like the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5.
Rumors suggest that Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves are already being developed for Sony’s latest console. It appears Microsoft is also working on porting Starfield and the upcoming Indiana Jones game, which was showcased at the Xbox Developer Direct event last month.
According to The Verge, Microsoft is exploring a multi-platform strategy. It is discussing which Xbox titles should be brought to consoles like the Switch and PlayStation 5, with the Indiana Jones game potentially being one of the first releases in this new approach.
Microsoft May Launch Next-Gen Xbox and Handheld Gaming Console in 2026
Microsoft is rumored to be developing a handheld Xbox gaming console capable of running games natively and via the cloud. The company reportedly plans to launch the next-gen Xbox and this portable console sometime in 2026.
The next generation of Xbox could come in two versions: a standard console and a portable, Nintendo Switch-like handheld device. This handheld console would support both local gameplay and cloud streaming. According to Xbox community member Magg, who shared the news on the Xbox News Cast podcast, we might see this new Xbox by 2026, although Microsoft’s plans could still change. He didn’t provide many details about the handheld device, but it’s expected to be more affordable than the traditional Xbox.
Industry insider Jez Corden also confirmed that Microsoft has greenlit several new Xbox hardware projects, indicating the company remains committed to the console market. This aligns with leaked documents from the US Federal Trade Commission, which revealed that Microsoft is already working on the next generation of Xbox consoles.
The documents also revealed that the next Xbox will be a hybrid console, and Microsoft is currently considering two different processors, both of which are to be manufactured by AMD. This suggests the company aims to push technological boundaries with its next-generation hardware.
Additionally, rumors have been circulating that Microsoft may be considering stepping away from the console business altogether, shifting its focus towards publishing games for its rivals, such as the Nintendo Switch and Sony PlayStation. These speculations have caused such a stir that Xbox head Phil Spencer recently announced they are ‘planning a significant business event for next week,’ where the company intends to provide more clarity on Xbox’s future direction.
While these rumors are intriguing, this information has yet to be officially confirmed. It’s advisable to take these reports with a grain of salt and watch for the formal declaration from Xbox head Phil Spencer next week, where more details are expected to be revealed.
